Trio Ready Mix- a Division of the Ralmax Group of Companies has an exciting and immediate opening for a Mixer Driver/ Dispatcher in Victoria, British Columbia.

Job Summary:

The Mixer Driver delivers concrete and other cement-based mixtures to industrial, commercial and residential construction job sites. The Dispatcher contributes to Trio's overall success by ensuring customer needs are fulfilled on a timely basis and by ensuring efficient route assignment/communication with Drivers.  The Dispatcher assists the Operations Manager in manpower planning, provides support to Drivers concerning operating issues and responds to customer requests concerning service delivery requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drives truck equipped with auxiliary concrete mixer to deliver concrete mix to job sites: Drives truck under loading hopper to receive sand, gravel, cement, and water and starts mixer.
  • Drives truck to location for unloading
  • Takes client calls and communicates schedule/route/service requirements with drivers or Supervisor as appropriate.
  • Monitors and uses radio, telephones and email for the provision of quality service.
  • Assists Supervisor in ensuring appropriate workforce level each day to avoid carry-over, identifies requirements for call-in replacement personnel as needed.
  • Completes daily dispatch sheets and associated paperwork, ensures scale tickets are completed correctly and processes customer payment as required.
  • Plays a key role in influencing positive employee morale and quality customer service.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Class 3 with Air Driver's License;
  • Safely operate the truck and its auxiliary equipment such as levers, chutes and mixing drums;
  • Good knowledge of MS Office suite, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook;
  • The ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining composure under pressure is necessary;
  • Geographical knowledge of the Greater Victoria area;
  • Clear communication skills both written and verbal;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment;
  • Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy;
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
